Day of Service

Every year, all Sondheim Scholars participate in a Day of Service, an on-site service learning partnership with a Baltimore organization that serves the greater community.

“I would say the [Day of Service] experience was my first insight into the program and its values. It was a bonding moment with the other Sondheims. That day we learned the significance of our contributions to a community.”

Scholars have removed invasive plant species with Catonsville Rails to Trails, prepared bagged lunch for homeless men with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, worked on a community art project for Art with a Heart, done community cleanups in East Baltimore, and deconstructed old building materials with Second Chance.
